The date for the Delhi Assembly elections is approaching, and all political parties are trying to attract voters. In their election campaigns, promises are being made for every section of society. On Wednesday, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference and spoke about several important issues related to the country’s middle class. Kejriwal announced that he and AAP would become the voice of the middle class. With the national budget coming in two weeks, he promised to raise these issues, demanding that the next budget be for the middle class.

Arvind Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP leader, said that many promises are made in the name of religion and caste, and some are made for the lower classes or industrialists, who form the vote banks of political parties. He pointed out that one group has been left behind and crushed in this process—the middle class. Over the past 75 years, different parties have come to power, and each government has neglected the middle class. They do nothing for the middle class but use taxes as a weapon. The middle class has become the government’s ATM.

Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP leader, said in a press conference that he will raise the voice of the middle class from the streets to the Parliament. He emphasized that they spend public money on the people. He mentioned that they had allocated a budget of 16,000 crore for education in Delhi. Kejriwal also pointed out that in 2020, 85,000 people left India. Along with this, he made 7 important demands from the central government.
Kejriwal made 7 demands from the central government:
1. Increase the education budget from 2% to 10% and impose restrictions on private schools.
2. Provide subsidies and scholarships for higher education.
3. Raise the health budget to 10% and remove taxes on health insurance.
4. Increase the income tax exemption limit from 7 lakhs to 10 lakhs.
5. Remove GST on essential items.
6. Create strong retirement plans for senior citizens and provide free healthcare to them across the country.
7. Reintroduce the railway discount for senior citizens.
