Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Saturday morning that if AAP wins the election, tenants will also get free electricity and water. Delhi already has schemes providing free electricity and water to its residents, and now AAP plans to include tenants in these benefits.
Meanwhile, AAP was set to release a documentary at 11:30 AM on Saturday, but Delhi Police stopped its screening. The documentary, titled Unbreakable, tells the story of AAP leaders going to jail.
Reacting to the screening being stopped, Kejriwal wrote on X, “The BJP is terribly scared of this film. Why? Why does BJP want to stop it? This film reveals the secrets behind the conspiracy to wrongfully arrest AAP leaders. It exposes the illegal and unconstitutional actions of the BJP government.”
Congress, which was in power in Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has faced a setback in the last two assembly elections, failing to win a single seat. In contrast, AAP dominated the 2020 assembly elections, winning 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP secured only eight seats.
AAP has accused BJP of ordering the police to stop the screening of “Unbreakable”
AAP said on Saturday morning that Delhi Police, on BJP’s orders, stopped the screening of the documentary. Theater owners across Delhi were threatened with not showing the documentary.
