According to the recent reports, the Womens in Delhi may continue to travel in the Delhi Transport Corporation Buses for free, but soon the pink card will be required to travel in these buses. The rule was first planned to be implemented from 1st of August, 2026. But it is going to implement from today onwards for the women who are the regular traveler of these buses. According to the recent reports, the Delhi Government is all set to make these pink card mandatory for the women travelers in DTC buses from August 28. As per the information, the rule is planned to get implemented from 28th of August, when the very first installment of the Delhi Laxmi Yojana is also going to be transferred in the accounts of women beneficiaries. On the account of Raksha Bandhan, this move will generously help the women to get a more safe and stable travel in the DTC buses. How to get the Pink Cards?
By Taking this major step, the delhi government wants to ensure that only the women who are the permanent resident of delhi get the free travel in this buses. Government wants to use the pink cards system to ensure, that Delhi women get this free service of bus travel. This particular service is available for the women who has the Delhi Aadhar Cards. As per the DTC Officials, Almost 18 lakh pink card have already issued for the women. Also, the government continued to make these Pink cards, so that more and more delhi women can get these free bus travel services. As per the reports, Currently, these cards are being made in the 50 centres of Delhi. Women who wants to get the benefits can apply for the pink cards in these centres and can get the free services of Bus travel across Delhi.
How Many women are Getting the Benefits?
Even though So many pink cards have been issues, but Women in a very little number are actually using this for the purpose of free travel in the DTC Buses. According to the sources, almost 6-7 lakh of women travel from buses on daily basis, but out of them only 15 to 17% of women uses the Pink card for travel in the buses. Which means women are still traveling without having this benefit. The pink card facility will help the Delhi women to get the free travel from the buses.
