Uttar Pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a major step toward the overall empowerment of persons with disabilities. He has directed the establishment of disability rehabilitation centers in all divisional headquarters across the state. the move aims to provide comprehensive support, including healthcare, education, skill development and social integration for people with disabilities. the chief minister emphasized that the government’s goal is to ensure that no person with a disability is left out of the mainstream of society. with a focus on service, compassion and respect. these centers will help improve the quality of life, promote independence and create opportunities for disables individuals to actively participate in social and economic activities.
Chief Minister’s instruction
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to develop these rehabilitation centers in a way that provides comprehensive support to persons with disabilities at a single location. the centers are expected to offer medical care, educational guidance, psychological support and vocational training under one roof, making it easier for individuals to access essential services. this integrated approach aims to empower disabled persons, enhance their skills and promote the independence. by ensuring that all necessary assistance is available in one place, the government seeks to remove barriers, improve quality of life and help people with the disabilities actively participate in society with the confidence and dignity.

Existing Disability Rehabilitation Centers should be strengthened
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the existing Disability Rehabilitation centers in various districts should be strengthened and developed as model centers to provide enhanced services. In districts, where such centers do not exist, they should be established on a priority basis within the local district or government hospital premises to ensure smooth coordination with the medical facilities. if sufficient space is not available in hospitals, separate buildings should be arranged. the chief minister emphasized that these centers must offer comprehensive services under one roof, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychological counseling, orthotic and prosthetic services and distribution of assertive devices. this integrated approach aims to make essential healthcare and rehabilitation easily accessible, empowering persons with disabilities and improving their overall quality of life in the state.
According to the recent reports, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the government aims to ensure the persons with disabilities are not seen merely as objects of sympathy but becomes self-reliant contributing member of society. the meeting was attended by state minister of backward class welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities.
