Women to Benefit on August 26
The funds for the first instalment of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana will be released today, August 26, at 11:00 AM. The release will take place during an event at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium, where CM Rekha Gupta will issue the first instalment to the beneficiaries. Provision has been made to provide financial assistance symbolically to approximately 2,500 women from Delhi during the event.
The amount will begin to be deposited into the beneficiaries’ accounts starting September 1. The entire sum will not be transferred to a standard savings account; instead, ₹1,500 will be deposited by default into the beneficiary woman’s Recurring Deposit (RD) or Fixed Deposit (FD) account. The remaining amount under the Lakshmi Yojana will be transferred to an account linked to the beneficiary’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) wallet.
Additionally, the ₹1,500 deposited in the RD or FD will be subject to a lock-in period until July 31, 2029; specific scheme rules will apply if the amount is withdrawn before this period ends.
