CM Dhami Announced That Dharali Victims will get Rs.5 lakh as immediate help

On Saturday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the immediate help of Rs.5 Lakh each for the families of those who died and for those who lost their homes in the dharali disaster. he also said that a three member committee will be formed to plan the rehabilitation, overall recovery and long-term livelihood support for the affected villagers. this committee headed by the revenue secretary, will submit its first report to the government within a week. The report will provide a roadmap for a long-term and effective policy for the futue of dharali village. the aim is to ensure the safety and livelihood of the local community and to help them rebuild their lives after the disaster. the government’s focus is not just on immediate relief but also on creating a sustainable plan so that the people of dharali can live securely and with the stable income in the years ahead.

A few days ago, a cloudburst caused massive destruction in dharali village of uttarkashi distric, uttarakhand, relief and rescue operations are still going on in and around the disaster-hit village. on friday, 128 more pilgrims and local residents were evacuated, taking the total number of people rescued so far to 566. Due to damage to several roads, including the gangtri nationa highway, rescue and relief efforts are being carried out through the air routes. According to the official data, by friday afternoon alone, 128 people were airlifted by the helicopters. these rescued individuals were brought to the matli helipad of the indo-tibetan border police. Authorities are working continuously to ensure the safety of all remaining peopel in the affected areas, while also providing them with the immediate assistance. the use of the helicopters has become essential as road connectivity remains blocked due to the severe impact of the disaster on local infrastructure.

On August 5, After noon a cloudburst triggered a severe flood in the kheerganga river, resulting in the depth of four people. two bodies have been recovered from the disaster site so far. according to the uttarakhand state emergency operation centre, 16 people including the nine army personnel, are missing. however, locals believe the number of missing people could be much higher as several nepalese and bihar laborers working in under-construction hotels, as well as tourists staying there, were present at the time of the incident. Along with the uttarakhand government, the army is using the chinook and Mi-17 helicopters for the rescue efforts.
