New Delhi: Across the country, various questions are currently being raised regarding the Election Commission, which has also led to ongoing protests. The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) has announced a ‘Tiranga March’ (Tricolour March) to be held at Central Park in Connaught Place this Friday at 5:00 PM. The Supreme Court has refused to stay this event. A petition had been filed seeking a stay on the program, but the Supreme Court explicitly declined to issue such an order.
The petition requested an order from the Court, citing the potential losses that small shopkeepers might suffer during the protest. In response, the Court stated, “We hope that people will act responsibly. Businesses support entire families.” The Court added that it would hold a hearing on October 26 or 27 and would issue an order if deemed necessary.

Details of the CJP’s Plan
Abhijeet Deepke, the founder of the ‘Cockroach Janata Party,’ has announced a protest at Central Park for 5:00 PM. He has also called for support for Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das. On October 13, Ranka and Das—who have been vocal against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar gained entry into Jantar Mantar by scaling a gate.
During this incident, they carried the tricolour and raised slogans. The police immediately took them into custody, and the following day, both individuals were formally arrested. A magistrate subsequently remanded them to five days of judicial custody.
High Court Also Declined to Intervene
The CJP has announced the ‘Tiranga March’ in response to the arrest of its leaders. Earlier, on October 15, the Delhi High Court had also refused to issue an order prohibiting the protest at Central Park, Connaught Place. During the hearing, the police stated that they would take all necessary measures to manage and regulate the activities.

The petitioner’s counsel argued that a protest has been organised in the heart of Central Park, Connaught Place—a location not designated for such demonstrations. In light of this, traders have begun closing their shops. This protest must be brought to an end.
Tight Security Arrangements
The Delhi Police is on high alert due to the protest by the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP). 6,000 Delhi Police personnel have been deployed in the New Delhi area, along with 220 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces. Officials stated that their primary focus is to secure the various entry and exit points of the commercial area, ensuring that the movement of the general public remains uninterrupted. The area is also being monitored via CCTV.
Meanwhile, amidst the CJP’s protest, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced that Central Park will remain completely closed to the public on Friday and Saturday due to administrative reasons. Furthermore, the Delhi Police has indicated that they may grant permission to a select group of individuals to hoist the national flag and sing the national anthem at a suitable location.
