Chinese electric car giant BYD, which is known as the world’s largest EV seller, has launched the new-generation Atto 3 electric SUV in the Chinese market. The company says this SUV is not just a car but also a smart moving gadget packed with advanced technology. Compared to the older model, the new Atto 3 is more powerful, modern, and feature-loaded. It offers a longer driving range along with luxury features and improved driving comfort. BYD has also added modern technologies to enhance the overall driving experience. The new-generation Atto 3 is available in four variants, with prices starting at around Rs 17 lakh.
Electric SUV BYD Atto3
The new BYD Atto 3 is bigger and more muscular than the previous-generation model. The electric SUV measures 4665 mm in length, 1895 mm in width, and 1675 mm in height, while the wheelbase stands at 2770 mm. The SUV follows BYD’s latest Dragon Face design language, giving it a modern and premium look. It gets slim headlamps, a flat front nose, and a connected LED light bar at the rear for a stylish appearance. Along with its bold design, the new Atto 3 also offers good practicality with a 180-liter front trunk and a large 750-liter rear boot space.
Modern and Premium Features
The cabin of the new BYD Atto 3 has been completely updated with several modern and premium features. The SUV now comes with a large floating touchscreen infotainment system featuring BYD’s DiLink interface, delivering a smart, connected experience. It also gets a stylish two-spoke steering wheel, a powerful 16-speaker audio system, 50W wireless charging, and a panoramic head-up display. The top variant of the electric SUV is equipped with the advanced LiDAR-based DiPilot 300 driver assistance system. This technology supports features like city navigation assistance and automated parking, making the new Atto 3 more advanced, safer, and convenient for everyday driving.
The new-generation BYD Atto 3 is based on the company’s latest e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture and uses second-generation Blade Battery technology. The electric SUV is offered with two battery pack options — 57.5 kWh and 68.5 kWh. These battery packs deliver a CLTC-certified driving range of up to 540 km and 630 km respectively. BYD has also introduced its new flash charging technology in the SUV, which can charge the battery from 10 percent to 97 percent in just 9 minutes. The new Atto 3 comes with a rear-wheel-drive setup, while its electric motor produces power between 268 horsepower and 322 horsepower.
