BJP Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Protest Outside Police Station
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station. BJP alleged that Rahul Gandhi was trying to create political pressure instead of respecting the rule of law. Rahul Gandhi had reached the police station demanding an FIR in the case of alleged pellet injury to a student during the protest.
BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a press conference that an FIR has already been registered regarding this incident and the matter is under investigation. He raised the question that when the police has registered a case and started investigation, then why was there a need to protest outside the police station.
Ravi Shankar Prasad also targeted Rahul Gandhi’s politics regarding the entire incident. Calling it “politics of anarchy”, the BJP said the legal process should be allowed to take its course in any case and there should be no attempt to influence the investigation through political demonstrations.

BJP said- FIR has already been registered, then why the need for a protest?
Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the police has already registered a case regarding the incident for which Rahul Gandhi is demanding registration of FIR. According to him, the matter is being investigated by the concerned agencies and the legal process is proceeding in its own way.
BJP argues that when an FIR has been registered, there is no legal basis for staging a protest outside the police station. The party accused Rahul Gandhi of trying to put pressure on the government and the police by politicizing the issue.
At the same time, this issue has been raised by Rahul Gandhi by linking it to the alleged treatment meted out to the students and their safety. His visit to the police station is an indication that the opposition wants accountability from the government regarding this incident.
The Supreme Court’s High-Power Committee was also cited.
In his statement, Ravi Shankar Prasad also referred to the High-Power Committee constituted by the Supreme Court. He said that the people affected by the incident had approached the Supreme Court and the court had constituted a high-level committee to investigate the matter.
The BJP leader said that when the matter is under investigation under the supervision of the court and an FIR has also been registered, then it is natural to question the need for a political protest. According to him, the investigation should be allowed to do its work.
The formation of the Supreme Court committee also shows the seriousness at the judicial level regarding this matter. Now the direction of this entire controversy will largely depend on the facts emerging from the committee’s investigation and police action.

Student’s pellet injury sparks controversy
The controversy stems from a student allegedly being hit by a pellet during a protest on July 20. Following the incident, students and opposition leaders raised questions about police action.
Rahul Gandhi reached the police station with the injured student and demanded action in the matter. He says that responsibility should be fixed for the incident and the affected student should get justice.
On the other hand, BJP says that the case has already been registered and its investigation is going on. The party argues that the legal process should be allowed to proceed instead of political demonstrations.
“Respect the law, don’t let politics influence the investigation.”
The BJP has raised Rahul Gandhi’s protest in the context of law and order and institutional processes. Ravi Shankar Prasad said that legal avenues are available for any complaint and investigating agencies should be given an opportunity to do their work.
The party termed Rahul Gandhi’s move as a political demonstration and alleged that it could create unnecessary pressure on the investigation process. BJP also presented it as a political strategy by the opposition to corner the government.
However, the opposition is linking the issue to students’ rights and police accountability. Therefore, the matter is no longer limited to just a police action, but has become a subject of political debate both in Parliament and on the streets.

Rahul Gandhi vs. BJP: Political conflict escalates over student injury case
Rahul Gandhi’s protest outside the police station has brought the student’s pellet injury case back to the center of political debate. Congress is demanding accountability for the incident, while the BJP says that an FIR has been registered and the investigation is ongoing.
Citing the high-power committee constituted by the Supreme Court, Ravi Shankar Prasad said that arrangements have also been made at the judicial level to investigate the matter. According to the BJP, holding a protest in such a situation is like not trusting the legal process.
At present, allegations and counter-allegations are intensifying between the two parties. The facts that emerge from the further police investigation and the Supreme Court committee process will be crucial in determining what actually happened in the July 20 incident and who bears the responsibility.
