Voting is underway for 70 assembly seats in Delhi. Meanwhile, a woman has accused AAP Aam Aadmi Party leader Dinesh Mohaniya of giving her a flying kiss. Following this, an FIR has been registered against him.
Voting for all 70 seats of the Delhi Assembly elections began at 7 AM today. However, just before the voting, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a major setback. AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya has been accused by a woman of giving her a flying kiss during the election campaign. Following her complaint, an FIR for harassment has been registered against him at the Sangam Vihar police station.

So far, Dinesh Mohaniya has not given any statement regarding the matter. Notably, he is contesting from the Sangam Vihar seat for the fourth time. His main opponents in this election are Chandan Kumar Chaudhary from the BJP and Harsh Chaudhary from the Congress.
Mohaniya Faced a Case Earlier as Well
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Dinesh Mohaniya had previously been booked on June 23, 2016, after a group of women accused him of misbehavior. The women had approached him with complaints about water issues in their area, and he was alleged to have misbehaved with them.
AAP MLA Was Arrested
In 2016, a case was registered against Mohaniya under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including:
• Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt),
• Section 506 (criminal intimidation),
• Section 509 (words, gestures, or acts intended to insult a woman’s modesty),
• Section 354 (assault or use of criminal force with intent to outrage a woman’s modesty),
• Section 354A (sexual harassment),
• Section 354B (assault or use of criminal force to disrobe a woman), and
• Section 354C (voyeurism).
Following these charges, he was arrested. However, in 2020, he was acquitted of all charges in this case.
