Bank Holiday

New Delhi: The upcoming week is crucial for the banking sector, and all eyes are on it. If you have any pending bank work, you should pay attention to the schedule. Understanding a few key details before visiting the bank next week will help avoid any confusion.

People often have to return without getting their work done because banks are closed. Before visiting, it is essential to check the list of holidays issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to clear up any doubts.

Find out which days banks will remain closed between July 20 and July 26

The Reserve Bank of India has released the details regarding bank holidays. Here is the schedule for bank closures from Monday to Saturday next week: On Monday, July 20, banks will remain open in most states; there are no official bank holidays scheduled for this day.

On Tuesday, July 21, banks might remain closed in some states due to local festivals, although there is no general bank holiday. On Wednesday, July 22, banks in Agartala will be closed on the occasion of Kharchi Puja. Banks will remain open on Thursday, July 23.

You can easily visit the bank to get your work done on that day. On Friday, July 24, banks may remain closed in certain states due to local festivals. Meanwhile, July 25 is the fourth Saturday of the month, and in accordance with RBI rules, banks across the country will remain closed. Consequently, all bank branches nationwide will also remain closed on Sunday, July 26.

Bank holidays vary across different states.

The Reserve Bank of India issues a bank holiday calendar every year. This includes national holidays, religious festivals, regional observances, and holidays declared by state governments. As a result, banks may be closed in one state while remaining open in another.

Banking services available during holidays

Despite bank holidays, internet banking services will continue to be available. UPI, internet banking, mobile banking, and ATM services will operate as usual. Customers can utilise online money transfers, bill payments, and other digital banking facilities. However, if you need to perform tasks such as depositing cheques, getting drafts issued, or depositing or withdrawing cash, be sure to check the bank holiday list for your city before visiting the bank to avoid any inconvenience.

It is worth noting that middle-class individuals primarily rely on visiting bank branches for most of their banking tasks. If you have pending work related to cheques or cash withdrawals, it is crucial to consult the RBI’s list; doing so will help avoid any inconvenience.
