Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme is being run by the Delhi Government for the elderly, in which registration has started from Monday 28 April 2025, and Vay Vandana Yojana cards have been distributed to senior citizens. Let us know about this scheme in detail.
Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme: This is a Delhi government scheme in which senior citizens above 70 years of age will be given the benefit. Under this scheme, senior citizens will be given health insurance up to 10 lakhs, in which 5 lakhs will be given by the Central Government’s Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and 5 lakhs will be given by the Delhi government, that is, the elderly will be able to avail insurance benefits up to 10 lakhs.
Delhi residents living outside Delhi will also be able to avail the benefits of this scheme. The card issued under this scheme will have the complete medical history of the patient, which will make it easier for the patient to get treatment and it will have information about regular checkups and emergency services.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched the scheme
Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme was launched by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in a program organized at Thyagaraj Stadium, where Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also present with her who distributed these cards to the elderly. The Ayushman Vay Vandana card was first given to Ram Singh Negi of Mohan Garden.
What is the eligibility for this
- Applicants aged 70 years or more are eligible to avail the benefits of Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme.
- In this scheme, benefits will not be given on the basis of financial status, all types of people can apply for it.
- For this, the applicant only needs to have his permanent residence and Aadhar card and he will be eligible for this scheme.

- Insurance up to Rs 10 lakh will be provided under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme.
- Cashless treatment facility will be provided in all government and registered private hospitals of India.
- Diagnostic tests and health checkups will be done for free under this scheme.
- Under this scheme, everyone will be issued a card which will contain the complete medical history of the patient and information about emergency services so that they do not have to face any problem during hospitalization.

How can you get treatment?
To get treatment under Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme, you can go to a hospital registered under this scheme. To search for a hospital, you can go to PMJAY’s hospital search portal, select your state and district, and click on the search button to search for the hospital.
