New Delhi: Preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state, are in full swing. The UP assembly elections are scheduled to take place in February and March 2027. Ahead of the polls, a cycle of accusations and counter-accusations has begun among the state’s political leaders. Former UP Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav has made a significant statement, launching a sharp attack on both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission.
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the Election Commission and the BJP are colluding to deceive India and its citizens. He further stated that the Samajwadi Party and the ‘PDA’ (Pichde, Dalit, Alpsankhyak Backwards classes, Dalits, and Minorities) family are growing steadily. He noted that as oppression, suffering, pain, and humiliation increase, this family only grows stronger. Expressing confidence, he asserted that the PDA will move forward, and those attempting to stop it will fail.

The Ever-Growing PDA Family
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that the Samajwadi and PDA family is expanding continuously; as oppression, suffering, pain, and humiliation rise, the family becomes even more resilient. He expressed his firm belief that the PDA will advance, and those trying to halt its progress will be unable to do so.
The former Chief Minister added that their ‘PDA sentinels’ (watchdogs) are actively monitoring every assembly constituency for the presence of fake voters—a factor that ensures the BJP’s defeat. He further remarked that the “theft of votes” remains a major concern. Taking a dig at the process, he pointed out that not a single person assigned to election duty belongs to the PDA family.
BJP’s ‘Tanker’ Will Burst – Akhilesh Yadav
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the BJP will not only face defeat but will also be forced to flee. He remarked, “The BJP’s ‘tanker’ will burst, their ‘tank’ (storage container) will burst, and we will have to bring in large earthen pots for them.” The SP chief emphasised that in a democracy, everyone has the fundamental right to hold marches, stage sit-ins (dharnas), and express their views peacefully.

Referring to the theft of donations meant for the Ram Mandir, he stated that those who stole these funds will inevitably face defeat, and that God Himself will ensure their downfall. During his remarks, Akhilesh Yadav also described the BJP as the greatest crisis facing the nation. He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the biggest threat to the country, and that the nation’s institutions cannot improve until this crisis is removed.
