With this launch, Tata Motors aims to strengthen its position in India’s compact electric SUV segment and attract more customers looking for budget-friendly EV options.

With these battery options, the updated Tata Punch EV facelift becomes a more practical choice for both city driving and occasional highway trips, giving customers better flexibility and convenience.

The 2026 Tata Punch EV comes with improved charging technology and better overall efficiency. The electric SUV now supports 65 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. Tata Motors claims that a quick 15-minute charge can provide up to 135 kilometers of driving range, making it more convenient for daily use and long trips. The updated battery uses advanced prismatic LFP cells and is backed by a lifetime unlimited-kilometer warranty. Tata has also enhanced the e-drive calibration and optimized the driving algorithms to improve efficiency and deliver a smoother driving experience.
Performance
The 2026 Tata Punch EV delivers a strong mix of performance and practicality for Indian buyers. The compact electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 9 seconds, offering quick and responsive performance for both city and highway driving. Tata Motors has equipped the Punch EV with multiple drive modes and four levels of regenerative braking, which can be easily controlled using paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience. Despite its compact size, the SUV maintains its rugged character with 195 mm ground clearance and a water wading capacity of up to 450 mm.
