Now, the responsibility of verifying vehicle details will be completely handled by banks. Banks will directly verify your vehicle information through the government’s VAHAN database. While issuing the FASTag, banks will check all the required documents at the same time. Once the tag is issued, vehicle owners will not need to submit the documents again. This step will remove the need for repeated verification and make the process more convenient for the customers. It will also reduce the delays and confusion, ensuring that FASTag users get a smooth and hassle-free experience while using the toll plazas across highways.

If you already have a FASTag, there is no need to worry. You will not be asked for verification unless any issue is found with your FASTag. Verification will only be required in specific cases, such as when the tag is found attached to the wrong vehicle, If there is any complaint related to the tag, if the tag is not installed properly, or of it is being misused. For most vehicle owners, the FASTag will continue to work without any interruption. This step is meant to ensure convenience for the users while maintaining proper monitoring and preventing misuse of the FASTag System.
