Maruti Suzuki has started 2026 on a very strong note, creating a big impact in both domestic and international markets. Annual Growth of Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India Limited reported its highest ever monthly sales in January. The indo-japnese carmaker sold a total of 236,963 vehicle last month, marking the biggest sales figure in the company’s history for any single month. Out of this, 178,300 vehicles were sold in the domestic Indian market. In Addition, 7,643 units were supplied to OEMs, while 51020 vehicles were exported. Export sales showed the strongest growth during the month. For comparison, Maruti Suzuki had sld a total of 212,251 vehicles, including exports, in January 2025. This clearly indicated strong year-on-year growth for MSIL in January.
Maruti Suzuki’s segment wise sales data for January shows mixed performance across categories. In the Mini hatchback segment which includes Alto and S-Presso, the company sold a total of 14,268 units during the month. In the compact segment, models such as baleno, celerio, Dzire, Ignis, WagonR, and Swift Recorded combined sales of 72,738 units. This segment includes both hatchbacks and sedans. However, compact car sales saw a year-on-year decline, as Maruti Suzuki had sold 82,241 units in category in January 2025. Despite the dip, the compact segment continues to remain an important part of Maruti’s Overall sales volume.

Maruti Suzuki saw strong growth in its utility vehicle segment in January 2026. Sales of SUVs and MPVs increased significantly during the month. Popular models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Jimny, Vitara, grand Vitara, XL6, and Invicto together recorded total sales of 75,609 units. In Comparison, the company had sold 65,093 units in this segment in January 2025, showing clear year-on-year growth. Maruti Suzuki’s popular Eeco van also marking annual growth. Additionally, the company sold 3,771 units of super carry light commercial vehicle, Reflecting steady demand in the commercial segment.
