Maruti Suzuki on tuesda unveiled its first electric car, the e-Vitara, In India. this new ev will offer an impressive driving range of up to 543 km on the single charge. To make ownership easier, Maruti Will introduce a battery as a service subscription, allowing customers to use the battery through flexible plans instead of buying it outright. Buyers will also get a buyback option for the battery. the company confirmed that sales of the e-Vitara will begin in january 2026. The electric SUV will be available in both 2WD and 4WD versions, with prices to be announced at launch.
Safety Measures present in Maruti’s e-Vitara car
Maruti has given special attention to safety in its first electric car, the e-vitara. the company has equipped this EV with seven airbags, including a dedicated airbag to protect the driver’s legs, which adds an extra layer of safety in case of a crash. Along with this, the car comes with ABS, EBD and brake assist to ensure better control during sudden braking. The E-vitara also features advanced level-2 ADAS technology, including automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist, making driving safer and more comfortable. Other important safety features include all-wheel disc brakes, hill hold control, multi-collision braking and an electronic stability program. Thanks to these strong safety measuers, the car has received a 5-star safety rating from Bhaat NCAP for both adult and child protection, making it one of the safest electric cars in India.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be offered in India in seven attractive color options, giving buyers plenty of choice. this electric SUV will come with the 2 battery packs. 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The 61-kWh battery will also be available with a dual motor all-wheel drive setup, making it more powerful and capable. The single-motor 49 kh version will produce 142 BHP, while the single motor 61 kWh variant will deliver up to 172 BHP. For those who want even more performance, the dual motor 61 kWh version will offer a strong 178 BHP power output. The e-Vitara uses a high-capacity battery made of 120 lithium -ion based cells, designed made of 120 lithium-ion based cells, designed to work efficiently in extreme weather conditions. these cells can operate smoothly in temperatures ranging from -30 degree Celsius to 60 degree Celsius, ensuring reliable performance across different climates in India.
