Ducati Desmo450 MX : Luxury motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has introduced its first motocross bike, the Desmo450 MX, with off-road racing capabilities. The bike was showcased at the grand finale of the second season of the Indian Supercross Racing League. The bike’s highlight is its Desmodromic valve system, which provides powerful performance and improved control. It features an aluminum welded frame and a Showa front and an adjustable rear unit. This bike boasts high performance, light weight, and advanced technology.
Powertrain
The Ducati Desmo450 MX is powered by a 449.6cc, single-cylinder engine that utilizes Ducati’s signature desmodromic valve technology. It produces 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The desmodromic system mechanically closes the valves without springs, enhancing engine performance even at high rpm.
High-tech features

The Ducati Desmo450 MX superbike is packed with several high-tech features that make it exceptional. It comes with riding modes that adjust engine power according to track conditions, engine brake control, and a kickshifter that allows for gear changes without the clutch. It also comes with launch control, which helps accelerate to rocket-like speeds right at the start of a race, and Ducati traction control controls the wheels on slippery roads.
Design

The Ducati Desmo450 MX features a lean and athletic design. The plastic body and fuel tank are well-designed to provide ample legroom. The seat is flat and the handlebars are slightly wide for better control during turns. Footpegs are also provided to prevent mud and slush from accumulating. Its signature color and graphics give it a striking appearance. It uses an aluminum perimeter frame, making the bike lightweight. It lacks a headlight or indicators, but instead features a number plate panel at the front. The front fender is quite high. It also features an Acropolis High Mountain exhaust system, which increases ground clearance.
Price

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026. Internationally, the bike is priced at around ₹9.67 lakh (ex-showroom), and in India, its ex-showroom price is expected to be between ₹10 lakh and ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom).
