Ahead of Diwali, the supreme court has given a big relief by allowing the sale and use of green crackers in Delhi and NCR under certain conditions. the court stated that these eco-friendly crackers can only be used for a few houses on Diwali day and one day before the festival. the sale of green crackers will be permitted from October 18 to 21. the decision aims to balance festive celebrations with environment safety. the court also emphasized that only certified green crackers can be sole and used, and strict action will be move is expected to bring joy to the residents while keeping pollution levels under control during the festive season.

Sale of Green Crackers will be Allowed from October 18 to 20

The Supreme court has stated that the sale of green crackers will be allowed only from October 18 to October 20. People will permit to burst these crackers only for limited hours-from 6 to 7 in the morning and from 8 to 10 at night-on Diwali day and one day before. the sale of green crackers will be restricted to specific location approved jointly by the district collector and the superintendent of police. Details of these authorized sale points will be widely publicized so that residents can easily find where to purchase green crackers. this step aims to ensure controlled use of eco-friendly fireworks while maintaining public safety and minimizing air pollution during the festival season.

The Supreme court has issued strict guidelines to ensure safe and eco-friendly Diwali celebrations in Delhi-NCR. it has directed the police and district administration to form joint patrolling teams that will include officials from the state pollution control board. these teams will monitor the markets and make sure that only certified green crackers with QR codes are sold. any shopkeeper or company found violating this order will face license cancellation and strict legal action. the court has completely banned the sale and use of barium-based crackers, traditional cracker chains and all fireworks not approved by NEERI. it has also prohibited the online sale and purchase of crackers through e-commerce platforms like Amazon or Flipkart. the Supreme court warned that if these riles are not followed, it will reimpose a complete ban on crackers.

The court emphasized that while celebrating festivals is important, people’s right to health and clean air is even more crucial. it directed the central and state pollution control boards to monitor and submit detailed reports on air, soil and water quality between October 14 and October 25. a copy of the order will be sent to all district collectors in Delhi-NCR. the next hearing will take place after three weeks.
