Soan Papdi
Soan Papdi is one such sweet that almost everyone enjoys. It is especially bought in large quantities during Diwali. But did you know you can easily make Soan Papdi at home?
Today, we will tell you how you can prepare this delicious sweet right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients
To prepare this tasty Soan Papdi made with pure desi ghee, you’ll only need a few basic ingredients:
- Besan (gram flour)
- Maida (all-purpose flour)
- Desi ghee (clarified butter)
- Sugar
- Cardamom powder
- Finely chopped dry fruits like pistachios and almonds
Method of Preparation

To make Soan Papdi, first heat one cup of desi ghee in a kadhai (deep pan).
Then, add besan and maida and roast it on a low flame until it turns golden.
Make sure to stir it continuously so the mixture doesn’t burn and gets evenly roasted.
Once a light aroma starts coming from the mixture and it becomes slightly thick, turn off the gas.
Meanwhile, in another vessel, prepare sugar syrup (chashni).
For the syrup, mix sugar and water in a pan and place it on low heat.
Let it simmer gently until the syrup thickens and reaches the right consistency.
Once the syrup is ready, gradually add the roasted besan-maida mixture into it while stirring continuously with a spoon.
This will help prevent lumps from forming. If any lumps do form, stir well until they completely dissolve.
Now, mix in the chopped dry fruits.
Let the mixture cool down for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Once cooled, use a knife to cut it into your favorite shapes.
Garnish with the remaining dry fruits on top for decoration.
And just like that, your crispy, delicious, and hygienic Soan Papdi is ready at home!
It tastes just like the market version and can be enjoyed with your friends and family during the festive season.
