Ayodhya, the holy city of lord Ram in Uttar Pradesh, is preparing to set another world record this year. According to an official statement released on Saturday, around 28 lakh lamps will be lit on 56 ghats of the Sarayu River during the grand celebration of Deepotsav 2025. this year marks the ninth edition of the festival, which is expected to be the most magnificent and historic one so far under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. the event aims to showcase Ayodhya’s Deep faith, rich culture and spiritual pride of the world to create this stunning visual, 28 lakh earthen lamps will be arranged along with the ghats, lighting up the city and setting a new world record once again.
Lakshman fort Ghat will be Included
According to the recent reports, this year’s deepotsav has a special feature: for the first time, the Lakshman fort ghat will be included in the celebrations. the festival is not just a religious event. it is powerful symbol of India’s eternal culture, spirituality, and global brotherhood. under the guidance of chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the event not only promotes the development of Ayodhya and the vision of the Ram temple but also marks a historic step in establishing Uttar Pradesh as a global hub for religious tourism. Millions of devotees and tourists from across India and abroad will witness the divine glow of Ramnagar during this grand festival. the festival’s grandeur, cultural richness and spiritual significance aim to highlight Ayodhya’s heritage on the world stage, making it a unique celebration of faith, devotion and India’s timeless tradition.

Lamps on the Ghats
As per the official statement, for the first time, over 1.25 lakh lamps will be lit at Lakshman fort ghat. Around 1.5 lakh lamps will illuminate Ram ki Paidi and Chaudhary Charan Singh ghat, creating a mesmerizing view along the Sarayu River. The Bhajan Sandhya ghat, will flow with the light of 2.5 lakh lamps, turning the riverbank into a magical spectacle. the main attraction will be ram ki Paidi, where the continuous glow of 15 to 16 lakh lamps will light up the entire ghat creating a breathtaking sight. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will personally inaugurate the Lamp-lighting ceremony leading the grand celebrations. the air will resonate with the chants of Jai Shree Ram adding a deeply devotional atmosphere to the event. Millions of devotees and tourists are expected to witness this extraordinary display of faith and devotion.
