Veg Chunk Biryani
Today, in this article, we are going to give you some ideas for dinner and lunch that are tasty, delicious, and quick to prepare, and will fill you up completely. Let’s start with our quick and delicious Chunk Biryani, which in Hindi is called Soyabean Biryani.
To make this, first, we will boil the soy chunks and then squeeze out the excess water and set them aside.
Next, we will chop the vegetables to add in the biryani. You can use any vegetables you prefer, such as peas, green chilies, cauliflower, etc. Once chopped, set them aside.

Now, let’s start preparing the biryani. For this:
Chunk Biryani ingredients
- For the Biryani:
- Soyabean Chunks – 1 cup
- Rice – 1 cup (preferably basmati rice)
- Vegetables (chopped) –
- Peas – ½ cup
- Cauliflower – ½ cup (optional)
- Green Chilies – 2-3 (slit)
- Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
- Tomato – 1 (chopped, optional)
- Cooking Oil – 2 tbsp
- Bay Leaves – 2
- Cardamom Pods – 2
- Cloves – 3-4
- Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
- Cinnamon Stick – 1 small piece (optional)
Spices
- Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- Red Chili Powder – 1 tsp
- Garam Masala – 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- Fresh Coriander Leaves – for garnish
- For Tempering (Optional):
- Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 1 tbsp
- Fried Onions – 2 tbsp (optional, for garnish)
For Cooking
- Water – 1.5 to 2 cups (for cooking rice and biryani)
Method

Firstly, we need to take oil according to the vegetables, heat it in a pan on medium flame. After the oil heats up, we will add bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, and cumin seeds. Once they fry a little, we will add all the chopped vegetables and fry them as well. Then, add water according to the rice and let it cook.
Next, we will add all the regular spices, and once the spices are mixed, add the soy chunks (soyabean). After a boil comes, add soaked rice into the mixture. Then, cook until the water in the rice evaporates.
Once the water has dried up, we will add our preferred tempering, such as ghee or fried onions, to enhance the flavor. After that, our hot and delicious Veg Chunks Biryani is ready!
