Let us know the Karwa Chauth Vrat Katha in detail –

In ancient times, there was a moneylender who had seven sons and a daughter, as soon as the moneylender’s daughter grew up, the moneylender got his daughter married, after the marriage, when Chaturthi of Kartik Krishna Paksha came, the daughter kept this fast. Her brothers loved their sister very much. When they all returned home for dinner, they asked her to join them.
Their mother told them that her sister was fasting for Karva Chauth, so she wouldn’t eat until the moon rose. Hearing this, the brothers urged her to eat, but she refused until the moon rose. Hearing this, the brothers lit a fire in the forest to feed their sister and said, “Look, the moon has risen.” Her sister looked at the moon through a sieve, offered prayers to herself, broke her fast, and sat down to eat. As soon as she took the first bite, she sneezed, and when she took the second bite, a hair came out of it. As soon as she took the third bite, she was told that her husband had died.
She was deeply saddened and began crying. Then her sister-in-law revealed her brothers’ plan, and she was deeply saddened. At that very moment, by the grace of God, Indrani was passing by with the Devadasis. As soon as she heard the woman crying, she went to her and said, “Daughter, why are you crying?” Then she said, “My brothers deceived me by showing me a fake moon through a sieve, which I thought was the real moon, and broke my fast, and my husband died.”
Indrani said, “You kept the Karva Chauth fast and consumed food and water before the fast was over. Because of this, Chauth Mata is angry with you, due to which your husband died. Now, do not perform the last rites of your husband. Wait for the next 12 months and resolve to observe the Karva Chauth fast again on the Chaturthi Tithi of Kartik month. In this, you will worship Shiva, Parvati, Ganesh, Kartikeya and the Moon with proper rituals, and after offering Arghya to Chandradev, consume food and water. This will revive your husband.”
After this, the moneylender’s daughter did the same; she served her dead husband continuously for 12 months and on the Chaturthi date of the 12th month, she observed the fast of Karva Chauth with all the rituals; due to the effect of this fast, her husband came back to life.

This fast of Karva Chauth is very special for women. On this day, women get fully dressed up and after applying sixteen adornments, they keep the fast wishing for long life of their husbands, due to which they get eternal good fortune and they live their life happily.
