Chief Minister rekha gupta on monday described the sheesh mahal bunglow as a white elephant suggesting it has become a costly and unproductive property. she said that the delhi government has yet to decide what to do with it. the bunglow was earlier used as the official residence of former chief minister arvid kejriwal during his tenure. gupta;s remark highlights concerns abou the heacy expenses spent on maintaing the property and its limited usefulness. the final decision on is future use is expected to be taken soon as the government reviews ways to bring wasted funds back to delhi’s treasury.

Chief Minister rekha gupta said that the money wasted on the sheesh mahal bunglow during the arvind kejriwal;s tenure will be brought back to delhi’s treasury. she assured that steps will be taken to recover the funds spent on the property. kejriwal lived in the civil lines area bunglow at 6, flagstaff road from 2015 when the aam aadmi party came to power, until his resignation as a chief minister in september last year. the BJP had dubbed this residence sheesh mahal to criticize the high expenses incurred on its renovation and upkeep during the kejriwal’s term.

Speaking at a public event, chief minister rekha gupta attacked against the Aam aadmi party’s convener Arvind kejriwal, accusing him of wasting the hard earned money of delhi’s people on the construction of the sheesh mahal bunglow. she alleged that public funds were misused for lavish spending during his tenure as chief minister. The bunglow which was reconstructed while kejriwal was in office became teh center of controversy due to the allegations of corruption, costly interior decoration and extravagant household items. rekha gupta also said, that such reckless use of taxpayers money cannot be justified and assured that steps will be taken to bring the accountability and recover the wasted funds for the people of delhi. CM Rekha gupta said, that the discussion for sheesh mahal property is going on under the delhi’s goverment, soon it will be decided that what should be done with it. The issue has raised conerns about the massive spending on the property during the former cm arvin kejriwal tenure. according to the reports, the reconstruction of the bungalow cost an estimated Rs.33.6 crore by 2022. the revelation has fueled the criticism over the misuse of the public money.
