India will set new records in 2026

He believes that domestic demand will increase as a result of the GST adjustments. Additionally, he stated that no industry has yet to voice any complaints regarding the levies.

India’s overall exports hit an all-time high of $824.9 billion, or ₹72.71 lakh crore, in the most recent fiscal year (2024–25). According to Goyal, the government would shortly implement a number of policies aimed at increasing exports.
The minister of trade also mentioned that negotiations for an FTA to boost exports are still going on with the European Union. Additionally, agreements with Chile, Peru, New Zealand, and Qatar will shortly be finalized. Without hesitation, he added that US tariffs were not a significant concern.

For the current fiscal year 2025–2026, the government has set an export goal of $1 trillion. According to available data, overall exports in July 2025 amounted to $68.25 billion, or ₹6.01 lakh crore. This surpasses the $65.31 billion (₹5.75 lakh crore) in the same month last year.
