Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra Booked in ₹60 Crore Fraud Case

The Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has charged actress Shilpa Shetty, her husband Raj Kundra, and an unidentified individual with defrauding a 60-year-old businessman out of ₹60.48 crore in a loan-cum-investment transaction involving their company, Best Deal TV Private Limited.

In an important fraud case, Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has filed a lawsuit against Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, her billionaire husband Raj Kundra, and an unnamed person. Allegations of financial impropriety involving their now-defunct business, Best Deal TV Private Limited, are the basis for the charge, which is filed at Juhu Police Station.

According to Kothari’s first information report (FIR), a mutual friend introduced him to Kundra.

At that time, the couple owned 87.6% of Best Deal TV Private Limited, a company that operated retail and online stores.

They insisted that the funds be transferred as an investment, but they were able to persuade Kothari to do so by offering a monthly return and principal payback.

In 2015, the complainant made the money transfer. When Shetty left the company in 2016, she learned that it was facing insolvency for defrauding another investor.

According to the police, the funds were moved and utilized for private expenses.

According to the police, they have been charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property), 406 (criminal breach of trust), and 34 (common intention).
