The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a revised schedule for NEET UG Counselling 2025, bringing an important update for all aspiring medical students across India. As per the latest notice, the last date to register for Round 1 counselling is today, August 6, 2025, till 3 PM. Candidates who wish to participate in the first round must complete the registration process within this deadline.
Once registered, applicants will have time until August 7, 2025, to fill and lock their choices of colleges and courses. This step is crucial, as the preferences submitted during this window will be considered final for seat allocation.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates participating in the NEET UG 2025 counselling must ensure the following steps are completed without delay:
- Timely Registration: Only registered candidates will be considered for choice filling and seat allotment. Visit mcc.nic.in to complete your registration.
- Accurate Choice Filling: Select your preferred colleges and courses carefully. Once locked, choices cannot be edited.
- Document Verification: Ensure all required documents like NEET UG 2025 scorecard, Class 12 mark sheet, ID proof, and category certificate (if applicable) are ready for uploading or submission during the admission process.
What Happens After Round 1?
After the Round 1 seat allotment result is declared on August 9, candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the allotted institute between August 10 and August 18, 2025, to complete the admission process. Failure to report may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

For those who do not receive a seat or wish to participate in further rounds, options for Round 2, Mop Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round will be available as per MCC’s overall counselling schedule.
Who Conducts NEET UG Counselling?
The NEET UG counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The counselling is held for MBBS, BDS, and other undergraduate medical and dental courses for:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats
- Central Universities (e.g., Delhi University, BHU)
- Deemed Universities
- ESIC and AFMC seats
- AIIMS and JIPMER
State-level counselling for the remaining 85% seats is managed by respective state authorities.
