On August 4, 2025, the Tesla launched Supercharger will be unveiled in BKC, Mumbai.

An important milestone in Tesla’s expansion strategy for India has been reached with the formal opening of the company’s first Supercharging station. Only a few weeks after the company opened its first showroom in Mumbai, the high-speed charging station at One BKC started operating on August 4.

The Elon Musk-led company’s dedication to creating an ecosystem for electric vehicles in India is demonstrated by this inauguration, and Delhi is also on the company’s operating roadmap.

Four V4 Supercharging Stalls, or DC chargers, and four Destination Charging Stalls, or AC chargers, will be available at the Tesla charging station in Mumbai. With these devices installed, the Supercharging stalls can charge up to 250 kW at peak speed at Rs 24/kW and 11 kW for Rs 11/kW.

The recently released Tesla Model Y may reach a range of up to 267 kilometres after 15 minutes of charging with these stations. To put things in perspective, the company says it is sufficient for five round-trip journeys between the Gateway of India and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

Owners of Tesla electric vehicles must plug their cars in in order to use the charger. Customers can use the Tesla app to check availability. Additionally, this software may be used to pay for charging, receive notifications while charging, and track the charging process.

In addition to four slower AC Destination Charging stalls, the One BKC configuration has four V4 Supercharging stalls that can provide quick DC charging. The Superchargers have a top speed of 250 kW and cost Rs 24 per kWh. The AC chargers, on the other hand, cost Rs 11 per kWh and have a speed of 11 kW.

The Tesla Model Y with rear-wheel drive is available in India with a 60 kWh battery or a bigger 75 kWh battery pack. The single electric motor of this RWD variant generates about 295 horsepower. Furthermore, the long-range version of the battery is said to have a range of 622 km, but the 60 kWh battery is said to have a WLTP range of 500 km when completely charged.
