With Telangana government cooperation, FIFA and AIFF opened the country’s second girls’ talent academy in Hyderabad.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and the Government of Telangana signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday, August 2, 2025, during the first Telangana Sports Conclave at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, marking the opening of India’s first FIFA Talent Academy for girls.
Along with AIFF President Shri Kalyan Chaubey and Principal Secretary, I&C and IT, Government of Telangana, Shri Jayesh Ranjan, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A Revanth Reddy, graced the occasion in front of prominent dignitaries, sports leaders, and policymakers.

India’s dedication to inclusive and organised grassroots development will be strengthened by the program, which is a crucial part of FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS) and will assist in giving young football players who have been scouted from all around the nation access to expert training.
A National Youth Football Milestone
Located in Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Stadium Complex, the academy will provide 60 elite players—30 boys (U14) and 30 girls (U16), with 10 players from Telangana in each category—with year-round high-performance training, residential facilities, education, medical care, nutrition, and mental wellness.
Under FIFA’s global talent development scheme, this partnership with the Telangana government demonstrates our shared commitment to spotting, developing, and empowering young talent from all around the country, particularly girls,” Chaubey said.
According to him, the academy will assist the nation in realising its goal of earning a spot in the FIFA World Cups for U17 men’s and women’s teams.

“This academy is a game-changer for girls in football,” stated Hon. Telangana Chief Minister Shri A Revanth Reddy. Under FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme, it is not only the first of its sort in India but also among the very few worldwide. Young talent from Telangana and beyond, particularly females, will now have access to top-notch facilities, education, and a direct route to the national and worldwide arena.
This project is in line with:
- Give every talent a chance is FIFA’s global TDS mandate.
- AIFF’s 2047 Vision: Make India a world-class footballing nation.
- The goal of Telangana’s 2025 sports policy is to make Hyderabad a national centre for sports.
