PM Kisan Yojna
India’s farming community has reason to celebrate as the government is set to release the 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on August 2, 2025. With over 9.7 crore eligible farmers across the country, this scheme continues to offer crucial financial support and hope for agricultural families.

What is PM Kisan Yojana?
Launched in December 2018, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme provides ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers. The goal is to offer direct income support to small and marginal farmers to meet their farming needs and household expenses.
Since its inception, PM-KISAN has become one of the largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) schemes in the world, empowering millions of farmers with timely and transparent financial aid.
Why August 2 is Important

The upcoming installment on August 2, 2025, marks the 17th round of payments under the scheme. With over ₹19,400 crore set to be distributed, this installment is seen as a financial “lottery” for many who rely on it, especially ahead of the Kharif season.
The release is also politically and economically significant, as it demonstrates the government’s ongoing commitment to rural welfare and agricultural growth.

Government’s Vision for Farmers
The PM Kisan Yojana is part of a broader effort to double farmers’ income and make agriculture more sustainable. Apart from cash transfers, initiatives like soil health cards, irrigation support, and crop insurance are working together to improve rural livelihoods.
The release of the 17th PM-KISAN installment on August 2 is a major relief for millions of farmers. With ₹2,000reaching bank accounts soon, this will help support sowing, fertilizers, and other agricultural activities.
Farmers are encouraged to verify their details on the PM Kisan portal to avoid any delays in receiving their “lottery.” This scheme continues to be a backbone of rural India, ensuring that the hands that feed the nation are not left behind.
