Honda
Honda Cars India is all set to expand its SUV lineup with the upcoming launch of the Honda Elevate Hybrid variant. Following the successful debut of the standard Elevate in 2023, the Japanese automaker is now preparing to introduce a hybrid version of its popular mid-size SUV. This new model is expected to offer enhanced fuel efficiency, better performance, and eco-friendly driving appealing to customers who seek a balance between power and sustainability.

A Step Towards Greener Mobility
Honda has been steadily moving towards greener technologies across global markets, and the Elevate Hybrid is part of that strategy. The hybrid variant is likely to borrow its powertrain from the Honda City e:HEV, which features a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with an electric motor. This setup not only ensures lower emissions but also delivers excellent mileage, a key factor for Indian car buyers.
The hybrid system is expected to be self-charging, meaning it does not require external charging like a plug-in hybrid or a full EV. Instead, it regenerates energy during braking and deceleration, making it a practical option for everyday driving without any range anxiety.
Design and Features
While the basic design of the Elevate Hybrid will remain similar to the standard petrol version, Honda is likely to introduce subtle changes to set it apart. Expect hybrid badging, different alloy wheels, and perhaps some blue accents to give it a more eco-conscious identity.

Inside the cabin, the hybrid variant will continue to offer a premium experience. Features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, automatic climate control, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are expected. Honda may also add more insulation for a quieter cabin experience, thanks to the electric motor’s silent operation at low speeds.
Focus on Safety and Efficiency
One of Honda’s strong points has always been its focus on safety, and the Elevate Hybrid will be no different. It is expected to come equipped with Honda Sensing, the brand’s suite of advanced safety features, including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, and more.
With rising fuel prices and stricter emission norms, the Elevate Hybrid is a timely addition to the Indian automotive market. It aims to offer the practicality of an SUV, the efficiency of a hybrid, and the reliability Honda is known for.
Expected Launch and Price
While Honda has not confirmed the exact launch date, industry reports suggest the Elevate Hybrid could arrive by late 2025 or early 2026. The price is expected to be higher than the standard petrol version, possibly starting around ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the trim and features.
With growing interest in hybrid vehicles, the Honda Elevate Hybrid has the potential to be a game changer in the mid-size SUV segment. It will compete with models like the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Grand Vitara Hybrid, offering buyers more choices in the eco-friendly SUV space.
