PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a significant five nation tour from July 2 to July 9, covering Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, and Namibia. This strategic overseas visit is aimed at deepening India’s diplomatic, economic, and defense ties with countries across Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. One of the key highlights of this visit is Modi’s participation in the 17th BRICS Summit, which will be hosted in Brazil this year.
The tour comes at a time when India is actively enhancing its global outreach, especially with the Global South. Ghana and Namibia are crucial partners for India in Africa, while Argentina and Brazil represent vital links in South America. Trinidad and Tobago, with its large Indian diaspora, also holds cultural and political importance.

Ghana Tour
In Ghana, PM Modi is expected to hold bilateral talks with the country’s leadership, focusing on trade, digital cooperation, and development partnerships. India is already involved in various capacity-building projects in West Africa, and this visit is likely to expand cooperation in education, healthcare, and energy.
Trinidad & Tobago
The stop in Trinidad and Tobago will be marked by community outreach and engagements with local leaders. Given the deep-rooted cultural connections between India and the Caribbean nation, this visit is expected to further enhance people-to-people ties and cultural diplomacy.
Argentina
In Argentina, discussions are expected to focus on agricultural cooperation, renewable energy, and strategic investments. Both nations are keen to explore new avenues of trade, especially in the context of food security and climate resilience.

Modi’s presence at the BRICS Summit in Brazil is seen as one of the most critical aspects of this tour. With geopolitical dynamics shifting globally, the summit will address issues like global trade reforms, climate action, and multilateral cooperation. India will also push for stronger financial mechanisms within BRICS to support developing countries.
Namibia
Finally, if we talk about in Namibia, so in Namibia defense cooperation and wildlife conservation are likely to be the focus areas. India recently supported the relocation of African cheetahs to India, and further collaboration in biodiversity and conservation is on the agenda.
This multi nation visit reflects India’s growing role on the global stage and its intent to build robust partnerships beyond its traditional allies. PM Modi’s engagements across continents are expected to open new chapters in India’s foreign policy and strengthen ties with emerging and developing nations.
