Summer Tips
Sun tanning occurs when your skin is exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays for extended periods, causing pigmentation and dark patches. While tanning is a common concern, especially during summer, there are several effective home remedies that can help lighten tanned skin naturally and safely. Here are some tried and tested solutions to restore your natural glow.

Lemon Juice and Honey
Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C and has natural bleaching properties. When combined with honey, it moisturizes the skin while reducing tan. Mix one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice with a teaspoon of honey. Apply the mixture to the affected areas and leave it for 20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Use this remedy two to three times a week.

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera is known for its soothing and healing properties. It not only cools sunburned skin but also helps in removing tan. Apply fresh aloe vera gel directly to the tanned areas before bedtime and rinse it off the next morning. Daily use can show noticeable results in a week.

Cucumber Extract
Cucumber is an excellent cooling agent and helps rejuvenate sun-damaged skin. Grate a cucumber and extract the juice. Apply it with a cotton ball on the tanned skin. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and wash with cool water. It also helps reduce skin inflammation and irritation caused by sun exposure.

Tomato and Yogurt Pack
Tomatoes contain lycopene which helps fight sun damage, and yogurt soothes and moisturizes the skin. Blend one ripe tomato with two tablespoons of plain yogurt. Apply the paste to the tanned areas and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing. Repeat this 2-3 times a week for best results.

Gram Flour and Turmeric Scrub
A traditional Indian remedy, gram flour (besan) gently exfoliates dead skin while turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. Mix two tablespoons of gram flour with a pinch of turmeric and enough milk or rose water to form a paste. Apply it evenly, let it dry, and scrub it off with water. This helps in removing tan and brightening the skin.
