When is Sheetala Ashtami 2025?
According to the Vedic calendar, the fast of Sheetala Ashtami is on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month, 7 days after Holi and this year it will be on March 22. Ashtami Tithi will start from 4:25 pm on March 21, after which it will continue till 5:24 am on March 23, hence the fast of Sheetala Ashtami will be kept on March 22.
Sheetala Ashtami 2025 auspicious time
This fast is observed on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month and the Ashtami Tithi will start on March 22 at 4:23 am and the Ashtami Tithi will end on March 23 at 5:23 am, the auspicious time for the Puja will start from 6:41 am and will continue till 6:50 am. Worshiping in this auspicious time will receive the blessings of the Mother Goddess.

Why do we offer stale food on Sheetala Ashtami 2025?
On this day, stale food is offered to Mata Sheetla because food is not cooked on the day of fasting and Mata does not like hot food, so stale food is offered to her, which pleases Mata and blesses her. According to another belief, due to the beginning of Chaitra month, the heat suddenly increases, due to which stale food is eaten and it is also offered to Mata.
