Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that this scheme was not completed by the previous government but now this scheme will be completed by the current government, this will also promote the beautification and tourism of Yamuna.
The previous government had taken boat service to measure the depth of Yamuna

Delhi Yamuna Ferry service is going to start very soon, before this the previous government had taken a boat from the Indian Navy so that the depth of Yamuna could be measured, but the previous government did not take this matter seriously.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that if the previous government wanted, this scheme could have been completed a year ago, but due to the negative attitude of the government, it took more time to complete this scheme, now this scheme will be completed by the new government and boating and tourism service will be started from Sonia Vihar to Jagatpur in Delhi, this will also promote tourism.
Agreement made on 11 March 2025
MoU was signed between Delhi Government and Central Government to start Delhi Yamuna Ferry service, which was signed at Asita Park in Delhi, this initiative of the government will not only promote tourism but will also promote inland water transport. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government wants to develop Yamuna in a cultural and artistic way like Varanasi and the government is engaged in efforts to clean the Yamuna. Delhi government is committed to cleaning the Yamuna.

On Tuesday evening, Rekha Gupta gave information about the Delhi Yamuna Ferry service. While giving information about the Delhi Yamuna Ferry service, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that “A big step has been taken by the government for the development of tourism in Delhi, in which an MoU has been signed between the Delhi government and the central government for the Yamuna Ferry Service and very soon the ferry service will be started in Yamuna.
This ferry service will be run between Sonia Vihar and Jagatpur in Delhi, where an attempt will be made to develop some tourism on a 4 kilometer stretch of National Waterway 110. Apart from this, electric solar hybrid boats will also be operated in Yamuna in which 20 to 30 passengers can sit.
VK Saxena said that the Delhi government has a big plan

On March 11, 2025, the Delhi government has signed an MoU with the central government to start the Delhi Yamuna Ferry service. This program was organized at Asita Park where VK Saxena said that the purpose of the government signing the MoU is to promote tourism along with the beautification of Yamuna and reduce traffic in Delhi.
