There has been a war of words between the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the allegations made by Haryana’s CM about Arvind Kejriwal poisoning the Yamuna water. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has demanded an apology from Kejriwal, warning that if he doesn’t apologize for his statement, a defamation case will be filed against him. Meanwhile, in response to AAP’s accusations, the Election Commission has asked the Saini government for a report. By 12 pm today, the Saini government will present its side to the Election Commission. Kejriwal had accused the Haryana government of poisoning the Yamuna, calling it a conspiracy for mass murder. However, the Delhi Jal Board has rejected Kejriwal’s claim.

The accusation of poisoning the Yamuna water

Former Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had alleged that the BJP is playing dirty politics by trying to deprive the people of Delhi of water. He said, “BJP people in Haryana are mixing poison in the Yamuna river water and sending it to Delhi. If the people of Delhi drink this water, many will die. Can anything more disgusting happen?” Kejriwal was commenting on the accusations made by Delhi CM Atishi, who claimed that the Haryana government is deliberately releasing industrial waste into the Yamuna, from which the national capital gets its water supply.

Election Commission has sought a report

In response to Kejriwal’s allegations, a senior BJP leader said, “The Haryana government will certainly take Kejriwal to court. We will also approach the Election Commission against him and his party on Tuesday.” Meanwhile, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini criticized Kejriwal, stating that making baseless allegations and blaming others is his habit. It is worth noting that the Election Commission had asked Haryana for a factual report regarding the ammonia levels in the water supply, following the accusations made by Atishi on Monday.

Voting on February 5

It is important to note that voting for all 70 assembly seats in the Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5. The election results will be announced on February 8, and it will be known which party’s leader will occupy the Chief Minister’s seat in Delhi. Before that, no political party wants to leave any stone unturned in their efforts.
