Puja Path Sankalp
Puja Path Sankalp: Puja has special importance in Sanatan Dharma but no puja starts without a resolution. There is a tradition of taking a resolution before starting puja in which a resolution is taken by keeping rice, water and flowers in the palm and meditating on God.
Before starting the puja, the devotee meditates on the wish for which he is performing the puja and takes a resolution in his mind. Taking a resolution means expressing one’s faith in God so that his wish is fulfilled.
Why is Puja Path Sankalp taken?
In Hinduism, before starting any Puja, a Sankalp is taken in which the devotee takes a Sankalp by holding rice, flowers and water on his palm and expresses his desire to worship God. This is the faith of the devotees in God and by taking a Sankalp, they say that they will complete their worship.
Specialty of Puja Path Sankalp
There are many specialties of taking Sankalp in Puja. By taking Sankalp in Puja, the devotee worships God with full concentration and his mind gets focused on the worship, Puja can be started only after taking Sankalp, before starting the Puja, Lord Ganesha is worshipped first after taking Sankalp, while taking Sankalp, Sankalp is taken by considering fire, earth, sky, air and water as witnesses and one’s wish is expressed, after taking Sankalp, Puja is started and only then the Puja is considered complete.
How to do Puja Path Sankalp
To start Sankalp, first of all, one should put water, rice and flowers in the palm, after this, one should bow one’s head in front of Lord Ganesha and take a Sankalp, while taking Sankalp, one should follow one’s name, gotra, date and day, after this, one should offer water, rice and flowers in the palm to God and pray for the fulfillment of one’s wishes.
Story related to Puja Path Sankalp
There are some stories related to Sankalp in Puja Path which are quite popular, in Ramayana, Lord Shri Ram performed Yagya before killing Ravana in which he had resolved that he would protect Dharma and as a result of the Yagya, he had resolved to end an adharmi like Ravana and he finally killed Ravana.
Similarly, there is another popular story according to which King Prithu fasted to get a boon from Lord Vishnu and said that he wanted to do this fast for the welfare of his subjects, after which King Prithvi worked for the welfare of his subjects throughout his life and all the people lived their lives happily and peacefully in his kingdom.
