What to Do If You Can’t Bathe in a River During Magh?

• Add a few drops of Ganga water to your bathing water and take a bath at home.
• If Ganga water is unavailable, meditate on all holy rivers and pilgrimage sites while bathing.
2. Chant the Bathing Mantra
• Recite the following mantra while bathing:
“Gange cha Yamune chaiva Godavari Saraswati, Narmade Sindhu Kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru.”
3. Offer Water to the Sun
• After bathing, chant the mantra “Om Suryaya Namah” and offer water to the Sun using a copper vessel.
4. Perform Worship at Home
• Pray to the deities in your home temple and perform regular puja rituals.
5. Practice Charity
• Donate money, food, clothes, or grains to those in need.
• Contribute to a cowshed (gaushala) to support the care of cows.
These simple acts are believed to bring spiritual merit and blessings, even if you cannot participate in river bathing.
