New Delhi: The wait for farmers is about to end, as PM Narendra Modi’s government may soon release the 24th instalment. If you are also waiting, the government might present this major gift around Diwali. The central government will transfer the funds directly to accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). However, certain necessary steps must be completed to avail the benefit of the instalment; failure to comply with the required conditions could result in missing out on the payment.
It is expected that the instalment funds could be transferred in the last week of October. While the government has not yet officially announced the transfer date, such claims are being made in media reports. Here is how farmers can check the funds in their accounts.

Farmers can review the essential aspects of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Eligibility criteria must be met to avail the benefit of the ₹2,000 instalment. Farmers are currently awaiting updates on the next instalment, owing to the release of the 23rd instalment.
No official date has been announced for the release of the 24th instalment. Information regarding the instalment will be updated on the official PM Kisan portal to ensure a smooth process. Additionally, farmers need to keep their contact details up-to-date to receive timely information about the scheme. If an old or incorrect mobile number is recorded in the PM-Kisan database, receiving important notifications may be difficult. Therefore, it is advisable to update your mobile number for the PM Kisan scheme.
How to update your mobile number?
To update the mobile number, farmers must first visit the PM-Kisan website at pmkisan.gov.in. You can then complete the process by following the available options.
Start by opening the PM-Kisan website on your phone, laptop, or tablet.
Scroll down slightly on the website to find the option to update your mobile number. Next, you will need to enter details such as your Aadhaar card number or registration number.
Then, proceed by following the instructions displayed on the screen.
Enter the new mobile number and complete the verification process if prompted.
Once the process is complete, you can confirm the update.
Please note that the portal’s options and verification procedures may change over time; therefore, you should follow the instructions currently displayed on the screen. If you do not find a direct option to change your mobile number, you can contact a nearby Common Service Centre or the relevant agriculture office. Once the process is successful, you will receive an alert via message as soon as the ₹2,000 is credited.
