New Delhi: While the clamour of the monsoon has largely subsided across most parts of India, some regions are still witnessing active monsoon rainfall; however, the season is now nearing its withdrawal phase. Even in this final stage, the monsoon is creating fresh challenges for people, with the weather expected to take a turn for the worse once again.

Weather conditions are set to shift rapidly across 20 states, including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR, where strong winds and rainfall are anticipated. Persistent rain could once again trigger landslides in hilly regions. A drop in temperature has been recorded in southern states following early morning showers. Which 20 states are under a torrential rain warning?

According to the Meteorological Department, torrential rain is expected in 20 states within the next few hours. Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh may experience spells of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. The IMD has also issued heavy rain alerts for Jharkhand, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Assam.

What will the weather be like in Delhi?

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in the national capital, Delhi, on October 8. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of up to 30 km/h. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 33°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 23°C.

Weather Outlook for UP

The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall for Raebareli, Gorakhpur, Ghazipur, Agra, Meerut, Mathura, and Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Wind speeds could reach up to 60 km/h in these areas. In Lucknow, the maximum temperature today (October 8) is expected to reach 31°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 26°C.

Rain Expected in These Bihar Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for Lakhisarai, Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Buxar, Gaya, and Kishanganj. In Patna, the maximum temperature today (October 8) may reach 29°C, with a minimum of 22°C.

Rain Likely in MP as Well

The IMD has issued a heavy rain alert for Raisen, Seoni, Chhatarpur, Shahdol, Damoh, Balaghat, Chhindwara, and Jabalpur. In Bhopal, the maximum temperature today (October 8) is expected to be 33°C.
