CJP Challenge

New Delhi: The Chief Election Commissioner has been facing intense opposition ever since reports of his arbitrary actions regarding the SIR (System for Integrated Registration) surfaced. From opposition political parties to social organisations, people have taken to the streets demanding not only Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation but also his imprisonment. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) previously staged a protest in Mumbai and is now set to bring its agitation to Delhi.

The CJP will hold a major protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi starting October 10. Along with demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation, they are seeking significant changes to the SIR. Meanwhile, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das has issued a warning to the BJP, alleging that the party intends to incite a civil war in the country. He claimed that the BJP is instructing its cadres to travel to Delhi and engage in stone-pelting.

“Mend your ways; the nation’s youth demands answers” – Saurav.

CJP spokesperson Saurav Das warned the government to mend its ways, stating that the country’s youth are demanding answers and urging them not to repeat past mistakes. He made these remarks while addressing journalists alongside Left-wing student organisations at the Press Club in Delhi. He asserted that Gyanesh Kumar should not merely be removed from his post but should also face legal action and punishment.

He called for an independent committee to investigate Kumar and his decisions. He announced that starting October 10, 2026, the Cockroach Janata Party would stage a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

What did Saurav Das say about the Delhi Police?

Cockroach Janata Party spokesperson Saurav Das alleged that male Delhi Police personnel were acting barbarically towards female protesters. He stated that any such brutal individuals within the Delhi Police who were recruited through monetary means must not be spared. Das recalled that the police had resorted to brutality when they were demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. The police merely cracked down on people and mistreated young women. Pellet guns were fired; in Bihar, the BJP government even resorted to using AK-47s. We fear that they are planning something similar in Delhi this time as well.

Call to reach Delhi on October 10

Sourav Das stated that the government fears the country’s youth are united and that its days are numbered. He has appealed to everyone to gather in Delhi in large numbers on October 10. AISA National President Neha Bora mentioned that approximately 4,000 people participated in the march from India Gate to Jantar Mantar on October 4. She recounted that the police put her into a private vehicle there, but the protesters did not allow the vehicle to move forward.
