New Delhi: The Chief Election Commissioner is facing mounting difficulties due to his arbitrary implementation of rules regarding the SIR (Special Intensive Revision). The Supreme Court has also questioned his high-handedness concerning Form-6. Political, social, and student organisations across the country are demanding the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

The ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) is set to launch a major protest starting October 10, 2026. Meanwhile, Saurabh Bharadwaj, the Delhi State President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has made a significant claim regarding the Chief Election Commissioner; he stated that, according to his sources, Gyanesh Kumar might resign from his post before October 10.

This claim has stirred up a commotion regarding the Election Commission. Coincidentally, the CJP is preparing to stage a massive protest against Gyanesh Kumar starting on the very date mentioned by Bharadwaj, a protest that is planned to be continuous.

Opposition Attacks Over SIR

The ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) exercise conducted by the Election Commission has come under scrutiny. The opposition has been relentlessly attacking the Commission, alleging that voters’ names are being improperly deleted from and added to the electoral rolls during the SIR process. Despite numerous complaints, the Election Commission has consistently defended its actions by citing its established procedures and rules.

Differences Among Election Commissioners

Controversy surrounding the Election Commission intensified following media reports claiming that, over the past ten months, there were 14 instances where the other two Election Commissioners held views differing from those of Gyanesh Kumar. Citing this, the CJP accused the Chief Election Commissioner of arbitrarily imposing rules.

According to the CJP, if differences of opinion regarding decisions are surfacing within the Election Commission, a serious investigation is warranted. The party is demanding that Gyanesh Kumar resign from his post and that the SIR process be halted. Meanwhile, the claim regarding Saurabh Bhardwaj’s resignation has further fueled the discussion surrounding this entire matter.

CJP to stage protest in Delhi starting the 10th

It is worth noting that starting October 10, all workers and supporters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) are set to launch a major protest in Delhi. This demonstration, demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, will take place at Jantar Mantar. Following the CJP’s announcement, the Delhi Police have also stepped up their activity. Party founder Abhijit Deepke has called upon all ‘cockroaches’ to reach Delhi. A tense situation could arise in the capital once again on this day. Previously, the CJP had spearheaded a major agitation against the NEET paper leak, successfully securing the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
