Delhi Protest

New Delhi: Sunday saw the national capital echoing with protests. Three major demonstrations took place across the city, requiring significant effort from police personnel to detain the protesters. The scope of protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar regarding the SIR issue is expanding day by day. On Sunday, students and various organizations organized a protest march from India Gate to Jantar Mantar. The Delhi Police had already blocked the routes leading to Jantar Mantar with barricades.

Approximately 5,000 personnel, including the Rapid Action Force and paramilitary forces, were deployed for security. Delhi Police detained AISA national leader Neha Bora and Aam Aadmi Party leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, sparking a massive uproar among the protesters.

Police detain protesters as the commotion escalates.

In addition to the march led by All India Students’ Association (AISA) President Neha Bora, the Indian Youth Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party also staged protests. NSUI activists raised slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Observing the escalating unrest in Delhi, the police initiated action and detained the protesters one by one.

Meanwhile, the AAP also staged a vigorous protest against the Election Commissioner. Tensions ran high around India Gate and Jantar Mantar on Sunday due to the various demonstrations. Police and paramilitary forces maintained a strong presence at both locations.

AAP leader also detained

Delhi Police detained Saurabh Bharadwaj, who was protesting against Gyanesh Kumar. CM Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at PM Modi, describing Bharadwaj’s detention as shocking. He remarked that Modi had surpassed even Hitler.

AISA activists hold a march

It is worth noting that activists from the All India Students’ Association (AISA) carried out a march on Ashok Road. AAP workers also marched towards India Gate. The day was marked by a great deal of commotion across Delhi. A bus window was broken during a clash between protesters and the Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar.

Delhi Police on alert following CJP’s announcement, know details

Police and security agencies have been on high alert ever since the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) called for a protest in Delhi on October 10. CJP activists and supporters are set to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar on that day to demand the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

The protest will continue until the Chief Election Commissioner resigns. CJP founder Abhijit Deepke stated that if the police stopped them anywhere, that very spot would become their Jantar Mantar.
