New Delhi: A heart-wrenching incident has emerged from Telangana during the Ganesh immersion. Thirteen people lost their lives in various incidents during the immersion process, while more than 26 others were injured. A police sub-inspector is among the deceased. Telangana DCP CV Anand shared these details.
The injured have been admitted to hospitals, where the condition of some remains critical. The death toll could rise further. According to a report, approximately 1.24 lakh Ganesh idols were installed in Telangana alone.
DGP Shares Key Information
The deaths of 13 people during the Ganesh immersion caused a stir. The DGP shared statistics regarding the idols installed across the state during the Ganesh festival. He stated that approximately 1.24 lakh Ganesh idols were officially installed in Telangana. However, if idols installed in private homes, gated communities, and apartment complexes are also included, the total number across the state is estimated to be between 3.5 lakh and 4 lakh.
A large number of idols were immersed in various parts of the state as the Ganesh festival concluded. Police personnel were deployed to ensure security and manage crowds during the event. According to the DGP, 13 people lost their lives, and 26 were injured in separate incidents during the immersion.
