Having been out of power for a decade, the SP is leaving no stone unturned to ensure success this time around. The party is employing various strategies to stage a comeback in the state. Today, Akhilesh Yadav is launching his ‘PDA Rath’ (chariot). The journey will begin in Raebareli, a Congress stronghold where he will demonstrate his party’s strength.
Riding a specially designed, high-tech red ‘PDA Rath’ prepared for ‘Mission 2027’, Akhilesh Yadav is arriving in Raebareli on Thursday. He is scheduled to visit the residence of SP MLA Rahul Lodhi and address a public meeting at the GIC Ground; party workers have made elaborate preparations for the event.
SP to Demonstrate Strength in Congress Stronghold
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will sound the poll bugle today through his ‘PDA Rath Yatra’ in Raebareli, a constituency known as a Congress bastion. This visit is deemed highly significant. Posters featuring Akhilesh Yadav have been put up across the area, bearing slogans such as “Welcome Boss,” “Chhote Netaji” (Junior Leader), and “Vikas Nayak” (Hero of Development).
Launching the ‘PDA Yatra’ from Raebareli, a formidable Congress stronghold and Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary constituency, is being viewed as a significant political statement. Raebareli has traditionally been considered an impregnable fortress of the Gandhi family.
Rahul Gandhi is the current MP from this constituency. Consequently, the decision to launch this ‘Rath’ from Congress’s strongest political bastion is not merely a coincidence but a calculated strategic move. It is also being interpreted as a tactic to exert political pressure on the Congress party.
Akhilesh to Sound Poll Bugle from Raebareli
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is launching his ‘Rath Yatra’ today as part of the ‘Mission 2027’ campaign for the UP elections. The initiative also aims to consolidate the ‘PDA’ an acronym for Pichhda (Backwards Classes), Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (Minorities)—equation. Akhilesh Yadav is kicking off the first phase of the ‘PDA Yatra’ on Thursday from Bachhrawan in Raebareli. During the visit, he will also go to the residence of Rahul Lodhi, the Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA from Harchandpur and an OBC leader.
He is also scheduled to meet Shyam Sundar Bharti, the SP’s Dalit MLA from Bachhrawan. Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will address a public meeting at the GIC Ground in Raebareli. A key objective of this tour is to boost the morale of Samajwadi Party workers and office-bearers ahead of the 2027 elections.
While the Samajwadi leadership has not yet finalised the complete schedule and route for Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA Rath Yatra, the decision to launch it from Raebareli clearly indicates a plan to send a political message.
