New Delhi: A fierce standoff is unfolding between the US and Iran, causing the situation to deteriorate steadily. Even after several months, tensions remain high between the two nations. Although representatives from both countries sit at the negotiating table, they have yet to find a path to peace. Amid this, Iran has issued a warning, saying it has developed the capability for naval confrontation.
They claim that if war breaks out again, US ships in the Indian Ocean will be targeted. According to a post by the Iranian embassy in Hyderabad, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Security Council, stated that if hostilities resume, US ships in the Indian Ocean would be attacked wherever they are located. “We have fully developed all these capabilities,” he said.
Increased Speed of Iranian Hypersonic Missiles
Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Security Council, announced that Iran has increased the speed of its hypersonic missiles from Mach 6 to Mach 10. He further added, “We have also developed electronic warfare systems and improved our air defence; we possess other measures as well that we will employ at the right moment.” He affirmed that Tehran is fully prepared.
Major Statement by Iranian Parliament Speaker
On Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the old US order in West Asia has collapsed and urged Islamic nations in the region to implement a new order. Ghalibaf noted that Tehran’s messages and conditions had been clearly conveyed to the US through intermediaries.
He emphasised that the Strait of Hormuz would not be opened until Iran’s rights are recognised and the US fulfils its promises. Meanwhile, Fox News reported that Trump is poised to decide on Iran. According to reports, Trump stated that major events are set to occur very soon.
Trump Has Also Issued Warnings
US President Donald Trump has also repeatedly warned that he could destroy Iran. Addressing the ongoing standoff with Iran, he stated that the situation has reached a critical juncture. Trump explicitly warned that if Tehran does not change its stance, it will face serious consequences.
In an interview, he remarked that he could destroy the entire country, wondering when and how he might do so and suggested it would be better for them to behave properly. Trump stated that he could completely obliterate the country, ruin it economically, or pursue a diplomatic solution. All eyes are on when a path to a resolution between the two countries will emerge.
