New Delhi: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, all political parties have begun pulling out all the stops. BSP supremo and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati is also making significant decisions these days. She has once again clarified her stance regarding issues concerning her family and the party organisation. Mayawati stated that to succeed in politics and serve society, it is essential for the party to rise above attachments to siblings and close relatives and to work with complete honesty and dedication. She mentioned that she made this decision drawing inspiration from her own experience and the principles of BSP founder Kanshi Ram. During this time, she also launched a scathing attack on opposition political parties.

What did BSP chief Mayawati say?

BSP supremo Mayawati stated that Kanshi Ram, the founder of the BSP, always refrained from extending political benefits to his close relatives after entering politics. He permitted his relatives to work within the party organisation solely in a spirit of selflessness. According to Mayawati, Kanshi Ram never started a family of his own and dedicated his entire life to the interests and welfare of the Bahujan society.

The BSP chief said that, inspired by Kanshi Ram, she too decided to dedicate her life to the Bahujan cause. She noted, however, that being a woman, she was compelled by circumstances to keep one of her siblings with her at all times; consequently, her younger brother, Anand Kumar, has been assisting her for several years.

No further changes to this decision

The BSP chief stated that she had to bring Akash Anand, the eldest son of the family, into politics due to Anand Kumar’s persistent requests. According to Mayawati, Akash Anand’s attitude and activities following his marriage were problematic at every step. As a result, she had to distance him from the party a few days ago. The former UP Chief Minister alleged that Akash Anand has now fallen completely under the influence of his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth.

She stated that bringing Akash Anand back into the party under these circumstances would amount to a major betrayal of the party, and she could not commit such an act of indiscipline. She further mentioned that she had been grappling with a dilemma regarding which member of Anand Kumar’s family should be promoted within the party. She explained that after seriously considering every aspect, she decided to bring forward a family member who would not follow in Akash Anand’s footsteps at all.

What Mayawati Said

Former CM Mayawati stated that the possibility of enlisting the help of Anand Kumar’s daughter in the future might arise. However, if her situation were to turn out like Akash Anand’s after her marriage, it would not be in the party’s interest. Keeping this possibility in mind, she declared that neither Akash Anand nor his sister, Deepika, would be entrusted with any party responsibilities. This decision is final and will not be altered.
