New Delhi: After facing global scorn and hanging its head in shame, Pakistan has once again resorted to the charade of cracking down on terrorists. Pakistan has now moved to tighten the screws on terrorist Masood Azhar. The government has announced a reward of ₹70 lakh for information leading to him. This move against the Jaish chief is being viewed as a significant step regarding the ‘Red Book’ of most-wanted terrorists maintained by Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Previously, in 2021, in an attempt to mislead the world and avoid action against Masood while seeking removal from the FATF ‘grey list ‘, Pakistan claimed he had vanished from the country and was in Afghanistan. At that time, the FIA had placed a reward of ₹50 lakh on Masood Azhar. Now, after five years, the reward has been increased by ₹20 lakh in a bid to hoodwink the international community.
Pakistan has been lying to the world since 2021
Since 2021, the Pakistani government has consistently made false claims to mislead the world, asserting that Masood Azhar is in Afghanistan rather than Pakistan. In contrast, technical analysis by Indian intelligence agencies over the past six months indicates that Masood Azhar is hiding in the city of Nawabshah in Pakistan’s Sindh province.
The FIA’s newly updated list of most-wanted terrorists includes the names of 19 terrorists who facilitated the 26/11 attacks by providing financial aid and operating the boat used in the incident. While the list includes photographs and details regarding the roles of 17 of these terrorists in the 26/11 attacks, Pakistan has omitted the photographs, details of Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliations, and specific roles concerning two of the individuals, retaining only their names.
However, the name of Mohammad Khan from Turbat, who provided the ‘Al-Hussaini’ boat used to transport the terrorists to Mumbai, has been retained in the FIA’s updated list. However, the photograph, the mention of links to Lashkar, and details regarding their background have been removed. Similarly, the FIA has removed the photograph and the reference to Lashkar affiliations from its list regarding Abdul Rehman, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist from Bahawalnagar, Pakistan.

Did you know that the FIA’s current list includes the names of 11 Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists who transported the 26/11 attackers across the sea using two boats, Al-Hussaini and Al-Fauz? These individuals include Muhammad Amjad Khan (Multan), Shahid Ghafoor (Bahawalpur), Mohammad Usman (Sahiwal), Atiq-ur-Rehman (Lahore), Riaz Ahmed (Hafizabad), Muhammad Mushtaq (Gujranwala), Muhammad Naeem (Dera Ghazi Khan), Abdul Shakoor (Karachi), Muhammad Sabir Salfi (Multan), Muhammad Usman (Lodhran), and Shakeel Ahmed (Rahim Yar Khan). Additionally, the list includes the names of six terrorists who provided financial support for the 26/11 attacks.
