New Delhi: Ever since senior BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary assumed responsibility as Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, he has been making significant announcements. Alongside taking the government’s policies to the masses, he is also holding a mirror to the opposition. Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary inaugurated the ‘Shri Krishna Mahotsav: Kanha Ke Rang, Utsav Ke Sang’ event at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Several prominent leaders were present on the occasion. The event was organised by the Dussehra Committee Trust, Patna, under the aegis of the Bihar Department of Art, Culture & Youth Affairs and the Satvika Group. Addressing the gathering, Samrat Chaudhary made key announcements. He stated that work would be completed by March next year to prepare three large grounds near Marine Drive. One of these grounds will be named ‘Ramlila Maidan’.
A 71-Year-Old Tradition Set to Change
Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary announced that the Ramlila and Ravan Vadh (burning of the effigy of Ravan) events would be shifted from Gandhi Maidan to the new location and organised with comprehensive arrangements. He noted that the Dussehra Committee Trust has been organising the Ramlila festival and Ravan Vadh at Gandhi Maidan since 1955.
The committee had long been requesting a separate venue for these events. Instructions regarding this have been issued to the District Magistrate of Patna. Once the new ground is handed over after March, it will be made available to the committee. This decision will completely alter a 71-year-old tradition in Bihar.
Krishna Taught Arjuna About Duty Through the Gita – Deputy CM
Extending his best wishes for the Shri Krishna Mahotsav, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary remarked that Lord Krishna conveyed the message of standing against injustice and the ultimate victory of truth. He further recalled that during the Mahabharata era, Lord Krishna made every possible effort for peace and asked the Kauravas for just five villages, yet the war could not be averted due to injustice.
He emphasised Lord Krishna’s clear message: the destruction of those who commit injustice is inevitable. He added that through the Gita, Krishna enlightened Arjuna about the concepts of duty (Kartavya) and righteousness (Dharma). The Chief Minister stated that even today, Lord Shri Krishna’s message inspires society to follow the path of truth and justice.
Relief from rain-related woes
CM Samrat Chaudhary said that work is also to be undertaken in collaboration with the Central Water Commission to construct roads and develop water transportation systems along the banks of both river basins. This initiative aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by people during the rainy season.
Furthermore, CM Samrat Chaudhary stated that the government is working to make Bihar prosperous and developed, in alignment with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). He added that a comprehensive roadmap is being prepared to ensure Bihar’s prosperity, in accordance with the vision of former Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar.
