New Delhi: Preparations for the assembly elections have begun in Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state. With the elections scheduled for five months from now, all political parties are already pulling out all the stops. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making an all-out effort to secure a third consecutive victory for the BJP by focusing on improvements in law and order, roads, education, and other sectors.
CM Yogi Adityanath has been consistently critical of the SP and the Congress. Speaking at a ‘Bhav Samarpan’ (dedication) ceremony in Raebareli, he addressed the controversy surrounding a fish feast attended by UP Congress President Ajay Rai following a visit to Ayodhya.

CM Yogi remarked that the Congress leader visits the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya and then indulges in a fish feast. He added that while they chant Ram-Ram, there is a limit to shamelessness.
Even a chameleon would be put to shame by Congress’s duplicity: Yogi
On Monday, CM Yogi Adityanath stated, “They chant ‘Ram-Ram,’ but there is a limit to shamelessness. Who said one had to eat fish to visit Hanuman Garhi? They could have eaten it outside Ayodhya. This is the duplicitous nature of the Congress. Even a chameleon would be embarrassed to see this species appearing in human form.”
“There, they pretend to chant ‘Ram-Ram’ and feign prostration at the Bajrang Bali temple, yet step outside to feast on fish. CM Yogi Adityanath noted their history of such behaviour, citing an instance where a mafia don murdered the brother of a state Congress leader; instead of testifying against the don, that individual knelt and bowed before him.
CM Yogi added, “Brothers and sisters, today, whether it is a youth, a woman, a trader, a farmer, the provider of food or any ordinary citizen of Uttar Pradesh, no one faces an identity crisis. You might recall that ten years ago, whenever you travelled, people would look at you with suspicion. Who was it that created this identity crisis?” Members of the SP, BSP, and Congress used to engage in dishonesty.

The Congress and SP dislike the development of Ayodhya.
Targeting the opposition, Yogi Adityanath remarked that they are irked by the fact that the airport in Ayodhya has been named after Maharshi Valmiki. They resent the construction of a passenger rest house named after Nishad Raj and the establishment of a dining facility named after Mata Shabari in Ayodhya. The fact is, you lacked the capability; you simply could not get it done.
Yogi further stated, “You lacked capability; you were incompetent and corrupt, which is why you failed to deliver. We possessed the capability; we honoured our heritage. We have honoured Lord Ram and contributed to the construction of His grand temple.
